A Look Back to 2008 and Forward to 2009
I’d like to wish everyone a happy New Year. It’s incredulous that we are now in 2009. This is a year that I hope you come closer to more of your trading goals.
I would like to thank our team at Trading Post for their dedication to progressing things for each of you. Amidst the grind of developing some great things, not everyday is overly exciting, but I know I appreciate their commitment.
As we turn the page to another year, Trading Post has grown and matured. Many of the past, is in the past, and we have a brighter, more positive future. The goal is clearly to help traders trade more consistently and with greater confidence.
Much of our evolution has been based on our conversations with traders and what we have been told the needs are. Below I will share with you some of my thoughts to briefly review 2008, and most importantly looking forward to 2009.
What We Are and What We’ve Done
We’ve learned a lot over the past year. As we’ve sought to partner with companies and individuals who provide great solutions for online traders, it’s become acute to us that building relationships isn’t an overnight process.
Also, in that process we’ve learned that many solutions providers need help, or a partner that can assist in delivering their product/service for them. Trading Post has an infrastructure that our partners can seamlessly plug into, to leverage the resources we have, such as payment processing, service delivery, administrative tasks, and presentation platform.
It’s important to mention that we have partnered with some high integrity individuals and organizations, such as Pro-Act Traders, LEFT Brain Trading, Phincorp Capital Markets, Forex Tester, Metastock, Ensign Software, SystemRunner and EURUSDTRADER, among others. We are engaged in discussions with more and sharing those relationships is an exciting part of what we do.
Trading Post Brokerage Services officially registered with the National Futures Association as an Introducing Broker (IB) and Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA). The number of brokerage relationships also doubled to include the well known likes of Interactive Brokers and Saxo Bank.
The Vision
We are creating a solutions destination for online traders. Sure we are focused on Forex right now, but the plan has always been to expand that to include other financial markets.
You can expect to see more entities partner with Trading Post, and become even more integrated to what we do.
Trading Post Brokerage will also continue to, but be judicious in expanding its brokerage relationships.
We are working on a platform that will bring traders and idea givers together in a way that has never before been seen at the retail trading level.
Most importantly, although it seems we are doing a tremendous amount, we are focused and understand that we can’t be spread too thin.
Sharing Feedback
If you have been a long-time member of the Trading Post community, know that things are different. We embrace trader sentiment. If you have a need or if we can improve your trading experience in some way, please let us know.
You can leave a comment on this blog – and I will address it personally. You can call our office and speak with someone. You can visit our website and email or Live Chat with a member of our team. We are here, and we are going to push forward and thrive.
In December, we conducted a survey – and it was not for the faint of heart. There were very positive comments and there were some very negative ones. In the coming weeks, I will share some of the comments and numbers, and provide insight to them through my eyes.
Looking Forward
The future is bright, we are focused on helping traders to achieve their goals. Last year was spent in heavy development of our infrastructure, so that we could better deliver what you need. We will be transitioning from a development focus more into a delivery focus through 2009.
As we grow, Trading Post Brokerage will create opportunities where it might be possible to have your trading solutions paid for, if you have an active account with one of our brokerage partners.
In the coming months, you’ll notice a new resources section where you can come in and browse through well-organized free resources.
A Final Word
Thank you for reading this. Thank you for your interest in furthering your trading. Trading Post will never be about short-term rewards – we know that consistency lies in commitment.
We are committed to you, and hope that in 2009 we can engage and communicate at a higher level which will not only help us and you, but in doing so fellow traders who surround us.
